After reading Nicole Helm’s Cowboy SEAL Homecoming’s blurb I had certain expectations and impressions of what it would be like. I expected a romance in a country setting. Maybe some awkward interactions between characters, and maybe a few ‘fish out of water’ scenes. Overall I thought it would be a light romantic read, perhaps even bordering on a bit of enjoyable fluff.
I’ll admit that when I first opened Chaos and Control by Season Vining I was expecting a bit of light fluff. I wasn’t even sure about it when I was given the opportunity to review it. I’d pegged it as one of those books that may be fun to read, but that was about it.
Boy was I wrong! The book’s description in no way prepared me for Preston or the emotional impact of this author’s writing style.
Amid the Winter Snow is a beautiful anthology of stories by well-known authors: Grace Draven, Thea Harrison, Elizabeth Hunter, and Jeffe Kennedy. Of the four I had only previously read titles by Grace Draven and Elizabeth Hunter. Although now I will certainly be checking out Thea Harrison’s other titles.
