12 Days of Gay (#LoveWins #5) ~ Ana Byrde

12 Days of Gay is book 5 in Ana Byrde’s #LoveWins series. It is a cute, funny and addictive Christmas story.
Casey and Ashton have known each other since childhood, and there is a lot of miscommunication and misunderstanding between them. Casey has signed up to compete in Aunt Rosy's 12 Days of Christmas competition. Each team produces four videos, each a sexy interpretation of a line from the Christmas carol, The Twelve Days of Christmas.
"Damn it, I should have checked the cupboards for some spiked eggnog before coming up here. This was not the kind of situation anyone should get into while sober."
Casey's partner suffers an interesting, and I'd assume painful, injury and cannot participate. In a desperate measure on Casey's part, Ashton volunteers to partner with him. The result is a series of increasingly steamier videos as things heat up between them.
12 Days of Gay was filled with Ana Byrde’s signature humour and warmth. The active cast in this story is relatively small compared to previous books. The majority of the action involves Casey and Ashton, and of course, their pets Roscoe the Corgi and Sassy the cat. This focus on Casey and Ashton creates a feeling of intimacy. It directs the reader's attention to the romance of their relationship rather than being distracted by other events. Like all of Ana Byrde’s characters, Casey and Ashton were genuinely likeable, and it was so easy to look forward to their HEA.
12 Days of Gay is a lovely Christmas story. It is a light, low/no angst, but compelling read. I enjoyed every moment of this story and didn’t want to put it down. It is a great weekend escape read, and I recommend it highly.
